Today we will be talking about an important topic that shows the misconceptions in motorcycle clothing. Mostly the culture of wearing protection gears in our motorcycles is below the required level and does not provide full protection from injuries, God forbid. Many people who drive motorcycles in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf still believe that the theory of helmet and jacket is work to save life and protect the body from serious injuries. Even that the bike rider does not have any idea about helmets and riding gear. As well as the idea of using gloves, shoes and pants is not in the list of many riders, and you will find it very hard trying to convince anyone to change the way he started riding.

The types of helmets are as follows:
  • Full helmet
  • Modular helmet
  • Three quarter helmet
  • Half helmet
The best helmet is a full helmet and must be made of high quality, and you must not be wearing a bad open helmet. The largest rate of head injuries are in the front of the face with 34.7%. Helmets have different shapes, and what suits others may not suit you, so if you don't know the good one; use the (intermediate oval). The industry of helmets are varies in quality, specifications, materials, and protection. The price is not a measure of helmet quality, as well as low cost doesn't mean that the helmet isn't safe.

A jacket has many types such as leather and fabric for summer and winter, and it's water and air resistant. So when choosing a jacket, make sure it can protect you when you fall down on the surface. Losing skin is the highest in motorcycle injuries, similar to burn injuries and that because not choosing the gear that saves you from friction on the surface. Make sure the jacket has back and shoulders protection, and high Denier, which is a unit of fabric thickness measurement. A denier should not be less than 800 in the areas exposed to injury. The leather should be thick, original, protective, and used for riding. The same goes for pants made of mixed fabric.

If you want jeans, there are many types are good and strong, but some are not. (klim k51, k52). Normal jeans are not safe and most thick jeans become torn in half a second of friction on the surface. Many pants (Textile) thick and strong, suitable for summer, winter, rain, etc.

Many people do not realize that shoes/ boots have different shapes to keep up with trend and satisfy all tastes. There are shoes for each type of riding, some are very comfortable and used to travel and waterproof if it is raining such as Gore Tex.

Finally, in the riding world you should know that what suits others may not suit you and vice versa. The most important thing is to find what protects you from dangers and suits your taste. May God protect you all.
